HEPA Europe is the European network for the promotion of health-enhancing physical activity. HEPA Europe is a network which works for improved health through physical activity among all people in the WHO European Region, by strengthening and supporting efforts to increase participation and improve the conditions for healthy lifestyles.

Knowledge Centre for Sport Netherlands strongly supports the objectives and guiding principles of the HEPA Europe network. An important part of our organisation focuses on using sports and physical activity as a tool to improve physical and mental health.

Our organisation has been an active member of HEPA Europe since 2007. We have led working groups on children and adolescents, workplace promotion and, socially disadvantaged groups, and we are still actively involved in several working groups.
In 2017 we are co-chair of the Working Group Active Ageing (with Liesbeth Preller as secretary).

KCSportNL is the initiator of the Erasmus+ Sport project ‘Keep Youngsters Involved’. This is the first project funded with European resources and is based on the HEPA Europe network

We hosted the HEPA conference and annual meeting in Amsterdam in 2011.
